Category: Cinema. Vinil Mathew is a Kerala born film director who works in Bollywood. He made his Bollywood debut through commercial hit - Hasee Toh Phasee. The film was produced by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap. Vinil has the experience of over ad films before he plunged into the magic world of Bollywood. He was born to a Malayali family in Delhi in His father was an IAS officer.

Though he pursued graduation in Economics, he left home at the age of 17 as his parents were not supportive in his decision to enter film field. He worked as an assistant of Bharath Bala during his college holidays and returned back to complete his studies. He reached Mumbai in where he started his career as an ad director with Highlight Films.

In between he also worked as an assistant to Prasoon Pandey. In he launched his ad production company Nomad Films. But it was not a profitable business and he continued with directing ad films.
